Another satellite to plunge back to Earth

Another satellite is ready to plunge back to Earth. The 2.5-ton object is due to break through Earth's atmosphere next weekend.

Where the satellite will fall is still not clear, but it is expected to hit Oct. 22 or Oct. 23.

Scientists estimate that there is a one in 2,000 risk of the debris hitting someone.

A 6-ton NASA satellite fell on Sept. 23, landing in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. NASA says UARS broke into pieces upon re-entry, and most of it burned up in the atmosphere.
