The new meeting will take place via teleconference between the Los Angeles, Davis, Merced and San Francisco-Mission Bay campuses Nov. 28, officials announced. An hour has been allotted for public comment instead of the usual 20 minutes.
The original meeting was scheduled to take place Wednesday and Thursday in San Francisco. However, law enforcement warned UC officials that "rogue elements" were seeking confrontation with campus police during scheduled student demonstrations.
Concerns also came in the wake of violence that broke out Wednesday at a California State University trustees meeting in Long Beach just before a 9-percent increase in tuition was approved. Demonstrators clashed with police, and a window was broken.
