Promenade Temecula said it will use the GPS data to see which stores get the most traffic, and where customers linger longest.
Mall managers said they won't collect any personal information, and that people can avoid being tracked by turning off the GPS function on their phones.
There will be signs around the mall informing people about the tracking.
