The Loma Linda City Council recently approved the introduction of the first McDonald's to the city, and many residents are not loving the idea of their city being invaded by golden arches.

The city in San Bernardino County was founded in the 19th century by Seventh-day Adventists and most still shun tobacco, alcohol and meat.

The McDonald's would be just the sixth fast-food restaurant allowed in town.

A group of residents, health care professionals and educators is now working to officially declare Loma Linda a healthy community to keep it from being overrun by fast-food operations.
