A Moorpark-based drug dealer was arrested following a month-long investigation by narcotics law enforcement.

Investigators with the Moorpark Police Special Enforcement Detail caught up with 19-year-old Miles James Coughlin last Friday at a shopping center at the intersection of Tierra Rejada and Spring roads. Coughlin was arrested without incident, and investigators found he was carrying prescription medication intended for illegal sale.

This was Coughlin's second arrest for possession of drugs for sale within the last few months.

At the time of the arrest, a minor child was found in Coughlin's car. Detectives determined that the child was not involved in the illegal sales, and the child was released to a guardian. In addition to possession, Coughlin was arrested for child endangerment.

He was booked at the East County Sheriff's Jail with bail set at $20,000.
