'Panty Bandit' arrested on methamphetamine drug charge

Glendale police officers arrested a man known as the "Panty Bandit" on Wednesday, Sept. 12. The suspect was identified as 30-year-old Fernando Oureoles.

Oureoles was stopped at 2:30 a.m. for jaywalking. He was arrested on a drug charge of possession of methamphetamine.

Police say he also had more than a dozen pieces of women's and girls' underwear, plus pornographic photos hidden in his hat.

Police suspect he broke into apartment or condominium laundry rooms and stole the personal items.

Oureoles was held on $20,000 bond. He was released on Friday.

According to the district attorney's office, Oureoles pleaded guilty and entered an 18-month drug program. He pleaded guilty on Friday to one misdemeanor count of possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine.
