Christian singer Tim Lambesis released from jail following murder-for-hire case

VISTA, Calif.

Tim Lambesis, the lead singer of the Grammy winning Christian band As I Lay Dying, pleaded not guilty to solicitation of murder.

Last week, a judge reduced his bail from $3 million to $2 million. Lambesis must wear a GPS monitor, is subject to strict travel restrictions and must stay away from his wife and children.

Prosecutors say Lambesis gave an undercover detective $1,000 along with detailed directions to kill his wife.

His attorney says he was using steroids and they had a devastating effect on his mind.

Lambesis' band has released six albums, including 2007's "An Ocean Between Us," which reached No. 8 on Billboard's charts. The band was nominated for a Grammy Award in 2008, and their last album, "Awakened," came out in September on Metal Blade Records.
