Corona daycare worker arrested for inappropriate touching of minors

CORONA, Calif.

A concerned guardian contacted the Corona Police Department on Monday to report an 11-year-old girl may have been inappropriately touched while in care of staff at Bixby Oaks Children Center daycare, located at 1421 Rimpau Avenue in Corona.

Detectives interviewed the 11-year-old girl. Miguel Flores, a 26-year-old Corona resident and staff member at the daycare center, was identified as the alleged suspect.

Police said detectives learned of a second possible victim of inappropriate touching, an 8-year-old girl who also had specific information about Flores.

Flores was stopped and arrested Tuesday leaving the daycare center on his way to pick up children from local schools, police said.

Flores was arrested and transported to the Corona Police Department for further investigation. He was later booked at Robert Presley Detention Center on charges of kidnapping with the intent of sexual assault on a minor under the age of 14 years old.

The Corona Police Department has learned that there are approximately 80 additional children registered at Bixby Oaks daycare. Detectives would like to encourage these parents/guardians to talk to their children about Bixby Oaks, and specifically about Miguel Flores. If any parent or guardian feels their child may have had inappropriate contact with Flores, please contact Senior Detective Andy Bryant at (951) 817-5789.
