Giant lobster caught in Huntington Beach

HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif.

Joseph Ali says he was closing up the family business, Zack's Pier Plaza, on the pier when he saw the waters were calm, so he decided to dive for dinner.

Generally, a 5-pound lobster is considered trophy-size, but he saw the giant lobster and went after it. He says he couldn't grab the crustacean properly due to its size, but it latched onto him, and he was able to wrestle it to shore.

A California Department of Fish and Wildlife official said the lobster was around 30 years old.

Ali says he ate the lobster for dinner Wednesday night.
