Petco opened its doors at 9 a.m. with a ribbon-cutting and lots of giveaways for pets. Many of the first customers who arrived were also given great incentives.
"The first hundred customers are getting a $10 gift card, and customers throughout the area received or should have received through the mail a mailer to entitle them to 20 percent off, so we're expecting some heavy traffic today," said Petco District Manager Bill Houchins.
The store is laid out in a new format that managers say is easier to navigate and find the products you are looking for. Pet adoptions are also available at this location. This is the 18th Petco to open in the Central Valley.
