5 injured in 2-car South LA crash
Five people were critically injured in a two-car collision Monday night in South Los Angeles, officials said.

SOUTH LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Five people were critically injured in a two-car collision Monday night in South Los Angeles, officials said.

The collision was reported in the 11900 block of South San Pedro Street at 10:14 p.m., according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Firefighters had to extricate two people from the wreckage, while the other three were ejected from the vehicles, officials said.

All five patients were initially considered in critical condition.

CHP officials said one of the vehicles may have hit a tree.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
