NEW YORK CITY (KABC) -- Two US marshals and a New York City police detective were shot in New York City on Monday while trying to serve a warrant to a California fugitive, who was also shot.
The incident happened on west 4th Street in West Village during the early afternoon hours as authorities tried serving the warrant to 32-year-old Charles Mozdir, wanted in Coronado on child molestation charges.
According to investigators, gunfire erupted and one marshal was shot in the stomach, while the other was hit in the arm. The detective also sustained a gunshot.

None of the injuries are life threatening, NYPD Police Commissioner William Bratton said.
"The three members who have been wounded were members of a U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force, led by the U.S. Marshals office, part of a national effort that we have NYPD officers assigned," Bratton said.
Mozdir, who had been wanted since June 2012, was fatally shot and a weapon was recovered, Bratton said.
The officers were transported to Bellevue Hospital.
West 4th Street is mostly a residential street with businesses on the bottom of the buildings.
