LOS ANGLES (KABC) -- Los Angeles police on Monday arrested an attempted murder suspect following a brief chase through the city.
Investigators said the pursuit began at about 10 a.m. in the Wilshire District when officers tried to approach the unidentified suspect.
The man fled in a Mercedes-Benz sedan but soon stopped the vehicle at the intersection of Crenshaw and W. Jefferson boulevards, when the car's right, front tire apparently gave out and the vehicle began smoking.
Police said the driver is wanted in Las Vegas for attempted murder.
Officers were searching for a weapon that investigators said the man likely tossed out of the car during the chase.
It was not clear why the suspect was in Los Angeles and no further information was immediately available.
