EAGLE ROCK, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- The California Highway Patrol's communication center near the 2 and 134 freeways in Eagle Rock was briefly evacuated Tuesday due to a threat made over the telephone.

Employees were moved out of the building in the 2900 block of W. Broadway into the parking lot at about 3:30 p.m.

Officers were seen searching the building and surrounding areas with bomb-sniffing dogs. The evacuation was lifted shortly before 6 p.m.

"We just finished an exhaustive search using K9s from our department and Los Angeles police. They did not find any device or any traces of explosive device in the building. Our employees are in the process of getting back into their office positions and returning to regular office work," CHP Sgt. Jose Nunez said.
