NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. (KABC) -- Wednesday marked the first night of the annual Christmas Boat Parade in Newport Beach.
This is the parade's 109th year, making it one of the longest-running holiday traditions in the country.
Hundreds of dazzling lit boats -- both large and small -- sailed through tranquil waters along the 14-mile route on Wednesday. All of the vessels were outfitted with holiday decorations.
Thousands of spectators are expected as the parade continues every night through Sunday.
It starts at around 6:30 each night. A spectacular fireworks show was featured Wednesday and will be held again Sunday.
