Driver crashes into Hollywood fire hydrant, arrested for DUI

HOLLYWOOD, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A driver lost control and crashed into a fire hydrant in Hollywood early Thursday morning, causing water to spew into the air.

The crash occurred at the intersection of Santa Monica Boulevard and Wilcox Place. Authorities say the driver was traveling at a high speed.

Los Angeles police arrested the suspect for driving under the influence. The suspect was taken to a hospital.

The hydrant has since been shut off.
