An Ebony Alert was issued Monday for a 19-year-old woman who went missing in the Los Angeles area.

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A 19-year-old woman who went missing in the Los Angeles area, prompting authorities to issue an Ebony Alert, has been found.

The report below is from before Sanai Makayla Singh was located.

An Ebony Alert was issued Monday for a 19-year-old woman who went missing in the Los Angeles area.

Sanai Makayla Singh was last seen at home on Friday morning in the 300 block of E. 109th Street, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

She is described as being 5 foot 1 inches tall, weighing about 115 pounds. She was last seen wearing a black hoodie and pants.

Police say she suffers from a medical condition that requires medication, but additional details were not available.

Adrienne Hutchinson says she last saw her daughter at home Friday morning before she left for work. When she returned, Sanai was gone.

"Sanai, baby I hope you're listening to this. Please come home," an emotional Hutchinson said. "The family misses you. We love you."

Detectives say since receiving the missing persons report, they've sent officers to pass out flyers in the area that they believe she may be in.

Police say they have reason to believe Sanai is in the Venice area.

An Ebony Alert is an emergency alert system designed to help find Black children and young Black women in California. There is a disproportionate number who go missing or become victims of sex trafficking.

An Ebony Alert is initiated if all of the following conditions apply: the missing person is between 12 and 25 years old, they suffer from a mental or physical disability, they may be endangered or subject to trafficking, they're believed to be in danger, law enforcement has utilized available local resources and if there's information that could assist in the safe recovery of the missing person.
