PARAMOUNT, Calif. (KABC) -- A Southern California Edison employee who was electrocuted while working to repair storm-damaged power lines in Paramount Wednesday night has been identified.

Jeffrey Moon, 26, of Los Angeles was pronounced dead at the scene, coroner officials said.

The electrocution occurred at about 5:20 p.m. in the 15500 block of California Avenue, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

An eyewitness told ABC7 Moon was working in a basket crane when he slipped and fell into the power line.

"He was a troubleman, they're our first responders. They're the ones who go out when there is a service interruption and try to get the lights back on," SCE Spokesman Steve Conroy said.

Edison said they're still investigating the incident and can't recall the last time a worker died on the job.
