2-year-old girl interrupts military homecoming ceremony to hug dad
Two-year-old Karis Oglesby ran across the gymnasium during the middle of a military homecoming ceremony to hug her father.

FORT CARSON, Colo. (KABC) -- A 2-year-old girl just couldn't wait to hug her dad whom she hadn't seen in over eight months.

Karis Oglesby saw her dad, 1st Lt. Daniel Oglesby, in formation during the middle of a homecoming ceremony in Colorado Tuesday, so she broke away from the crowd to give him a big hug.

In the video, Karis is seen running across the gymnasium in sparkling gold boots. Her dad bent down and gave her a big hug before telling her to go back to her seat alongside her mom.

"I wasn't worried about maintaining the integrity of the formation," Oglesby told ABC News. "The homecoming ceremony is all about our families who've had to sacrifice eight, almost nine, months without their loved ones. I was so happy to see my awesome little girl."
