Father meets newborn quadruplets for first time while home from deployment

HINSDALE, Ill. -- Four newborn quadruplets met their father - home from his deployment in South Korea - for the first time.

Anthony Burch and his wife Mary Pat Burch are now the proud parents to Henry, Molly, Nathaniel and Samuel.

The Army captain wasn't able to be in the delivery room on Jan. 24 to welcome them into the world, but he wasn't too far away thanks to FaceTime.

"Perfect timing. Everything clicked together I was able to see the babies as they were getting cleaned off in the room," Anthony Burch said.

"He got to see them before I did even though I was right there and he was 12,000 miles away," Mary Pat Burch joked.

"I was nervous, there are so many things going on and so many babies that you are trying to get information on each one, make sure each one is safe and healthy," Anthony Burch said.

Anthony Burch arrived home Thursday night and the Burchs said they can't wait to bring the babies back and introduce them to their big sister Alice.

"I don't think she fully grasps it yet. When I was pregnant if you pointed to my belly she would say, 'baby.' I don't think she quite gets the volume of babies that are going to be coming home soon," Mary Pat Burch said.

The family won't have much time together, as Anthony Burch only has two weeks of paternity leave. But he said he'll be back this summer.
