What your fridge says about your love life
What's in your fridge right now? You could have the ingredients to find true love. Or the ingredients to lose it.

MANHATTAN BEACH, Calif. (KABC) -- Ashley Tedesco of Manhattan Beach passed up online dating for a visit from John Stonehill. He calls himself a "refrigerator dating expert."

Stonehill's background is in marketing, but it led to CheckTheirFridge.com, a blog that helps daters get an inside track into who they're going out with just by going through what's in their fridge.

"Nothing says more about who we are than what we eat and what we drink," Stonehill said. "Ninety-five percent of our dates include eating and drinking."

So whether it's brand names or generic, fancy or farmer's market fresh, even alcohol or lack there of, Stonehill says, it's very telling.

He breaks it down to five things a single person should keep in their fridge.

Here's the big five:

  • Ingredients for appetizers
  • Bottled water
  • Wine
  • Beer
  • Some type of snack or late night munchie

Other clues your fridge gives up?

Stonehill says if you've got fruit and bottled water that signals you're health conscious. Having both wine and beer on hand suggests you're a good hostess. Choosing generics indicates you're budget-minded, while premium brands means they are most likely willing to pay extra for quality.

"The way we spend money on our food and drink, we're spending money that way in other areas of our lives as well: their health, their lifestyle, what kind of romantic partner they'll be, their financial situation," Stonehill said.

And Stonehill's advice goes for either sex. Does a man have at least enough food to pull together a quick healthy meal? He may be marriage material.

But too much takeout or too many condiments may suggest a man or woman isn't that into domesticating. A variety of offerings is a good sign.

And how does the fridge look? Clean and organized can also reflect how they live their life.

Much to Ashley's surprise, she scored high marks.
