Ice turns lighthouse into frozen palace
Over the weekend, temperatures dropped well below -20 degrees with the wind chill in parts of the upper-midwest, and this drone video footage showcases exactly what the worst of the weather felt like.

A lighthouse in St. Joseph, Mich. now resembles a majestic ice palace in a fairy tale after it was hit by chilly weather.

Over the weekend, temperatures dropped well below -20 degrees with the wind chill in parts of the upper-midwest, according to AccuWeather, and the above drone video footage showcases exactly what the worst of the weather felt like.

The lighthouse, on the southeast shore on Lake Michigan, is so beautiful and unbelievable that it's hard to believe it isn't a set built for a major motion picture. The footage, created by Greak Lakes Drone Company, has been viewed more than a million times. One viewer commented that the lighthouse now resembles an "ice monster" with one "gnarly beard."

The lighthouse was originally constructed in 1859, and remains one of the last remaining lighthouses across the Great Lakes.
