1 dead after car plunges 200 feet over cliff in La Cañada Flintridge

LA CANADA FLINTRIDGE, Calif. (KABC) -- One person was killed and three others were hurt after a car plunged more than 200 feet off Angeles Crest Highway in La Cañada Flintridge.

A car carrying four people crashed and went over the side of a cliff in the Angeles National Forest shortly after 10 p.m. Wednesday, according to the California Highway Patrol.

A firefighter injured his knee during the rescue operation that followed and had to be carried out on a street.

One person in the car that crashed died.

It's not clear what caused the driver to lose control and crash.
