MORONGO VALLEY, Calif. (KABC) -- A small earthquake, with a preliminary magnitude of 3.6, shook the Morongo Valley area on Thursday morning.

The quake was centered six miles south-southwest of Morongo Valley and struck at 8:53 a.m.

Residents reported feeling the earthquake in Menifee, Grand Terrace, Cabazon and Redlands.
