LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant is scheduled to have surgery for his torn rotator cuff on Wednesday, officials said Monday.
Bryant injured his right shoulder in last week's game against the Pelicans in New Orleans.
Dr. Neal ElAttrache examined Kobe Monday morning and confirmed the earlier diagnosis of a torn rotator cuff. He advised the star basketball player to have surgery.
"A timeline estimate for Bryant's return will be issued following the surgery," Lakers spokesman Calder Hynes said in a statement.
