ABC7 has compiled a list of items that are important to have in your earthquake kit so that you're prepared for "the big one."

LA QUINTA, Calif. (KABC) -- A 3.5-magnitude earthquake struck near the La Quinta area Tuesday night, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The temblor hit approximately 13 miles west-northwest of Anza and 14.1 miles northeast of La Quinta at about 10:42 p.m., according to the USGS.

It was also centered nearly 23 miles from Palm Springs.

The quake had a depth of 3 miles.

There were no immediate reports of damage due to the quake.
