LAX tests emergency system overnight
Los Angeles International Airport ran a drill overnight to test their emergency systems

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- The Los Angeles International Airport turned off the power in some terminals last night to test its emergency systems.

Airport officials wanted to make sure the airport could handle a major power outage and they said it took about 18 minutes for the generator to have the system back up and running.

The emergency drill happened between 1 a.m. and 3 a.m. and no incoming flights were scheduled during this time.
