Lioness saves cub from moat at zoo in Miami

MIAMI (KABC) -- Kids can somehow find themselves in sticky, precarious situations, forcing adults to come to the rescue. Turns out, the same thing happens in the animal kingdom.

A lioness rescuing a cub at a zoo in Miami was caught on cellphone video.

When a lion cub fell into a moat in the exhibit, a lioness jumped into action.

She scaled down to the moat, clung to the side and grabbed the cub with her mouth.

She then pulled the cub upward onto sturdy ground. All the other lions then licked and cleaned the cub.
