When you get your mail-in ballot, it will have your ballot and an envelope with prepaid postage inside.
Fill out your ballot, checking the front and back of your ballot to make sure you didn't miss anything. For the California Prop 50 special election, there is only one sheet and one question for the ballot.
When done filling out your ballot, fold it and put it in the provided return envelope. Seal the return envelope.
On the envelope, date and sign it. Make sure the signature matches the one on your driver's license/ID or one provided when registering to vote. Election officials will compare the signature on your envelope to the signature on file.
There are three ways to return your mail-in ballot:
1) You can put your signed and dated return envelope in the mail.
2) You can put your mail-in ballot in a ballot dropbox in your county.
3) You can drop off your ballot at a vote center.
You can track you mail-in ballot on the Where's My Ballot website here.
