Claudia Sheinbaum sworn in as Mexico's first woman president

En su primer discurso como la primera presidenta de México, Claudia Sheinbaum elogió a su antecesor Andrés Manuel López Obrador, a quien calificó como "el dirigente político y luchador social más importante de la historia moderna" y el más querido.

También, dijo, para millones es "el mejor presidente de México".

Desde el podio de la Cámara de Diputados, la nueva mandataria dijo que si bien López Obrador no quiere monumentos, ni que se ponga su nombre a alguna calle, eso no será necesario porque "usted estará para siempre en el corazón del pueblo de México".

López Obrador la escuchaba a unos metros en la tribuna legislativa.

"Hasta siempre hermano, amigo, compañero Andrés Manuel López Obrador", añadió.

"Por primera vez llegamos las mujeres a conducir los destinos de la nación", dijo Sheinbaum al resaltar su rol histórico como la primera mujer que llega a la presidencia y recordó que "no llego sola, llegamos todas". La nueva presidenta ratificó la continuidad de las políticas de su predecesor y el apego a la "austeridad republicana" y el combate a la corrupción que defendió López Obrador durante su sexenio.
