D23 live updates: From movies to theme park rides, here's everything announced at Disney fan event

Anne Hathaway is being honored as a 2026 Disney Legend at D23 by David Frankel, who directed "The Devil Wears Prada" and its sequel, "The Devil Wears Prada 2."

Frankel shared a story about Hathaway's devotion to her craft, saying he found her crouched in the corner while filming the first movie, listening to Giacomo Puccini's "Madama Butterfly."

While he he questioned at first why she would be listening to an operatic tragedy, he realized that by leaning into the pain, she added real emotional depth.

Vogue's Anna Wintour also honored the actress in a prerecorded video message, sending her all her love.

Describing herself as lucky, Hathaway said she's thankful to spend her life doing what she loves: having adventures, knowing joy and sharing life with her husband and children.

"As cool as all this is, just us being us is where I'm happiest," she said."

Anne Hathaway is a veteran performer of stage and screen whose work spans major pop culture franchises. Born in New York City, she studied performing arts at Vassar College and New York University before launching her film career.

Hathaway's Disney breakthrough came as Mia Thermopolis in "The Princess Diaries" (2001) and "The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement" (2004). She later starred as the White Queen in Tim Burton's "Alice in Wonderland" (2010) and "Alice Through the Looking Glass" (2016). Her film credits include "Ella Enchanted," "Becoming Jane," "Love & Other Drugs," the animated films "Rio" and "Rio 2," and voicing Haru in the English dub of Studio Ghibli's "The Cat Returns." On television, she appeared in "Get Real" and earned an Emmy Award for guest appearances on "The Simpsons."

A recipient of Oscar, Golden Globe, Emmy, Critics' Choice, SAG and BAFTA awards, Hathaway's most recent Disney role was reprising Andy Sachs in "The Devil Wears Prada 2."

Jerry Bruckheimer is being honored as a 2026 Disney Legend at D23 by "Pirates of the Caribbean" star Orlando Bloom.

"Aside from being passionate and brilliant, Jerry, you simply do not miss," he said.

He shared his thanks to those he works with, noting, "I'm only here because of the great writers, directors, actors, the crews" who make this all possible.

Bruckheimer thanked the two legends in his life: his wife and daughter.

"They encourage me and help make it through the tough days to entertain you," he said. "You're why we make these movies, you're here tonight because of what we put on the screens and you support what we do, and nobody dodes it bettr than the Disney company."

Academy Award-nominated producer Jerry Bruckheimer has generated nearly $15 billion at the global box office in a career spanning more than 50 years. Born in Detroit, Michigan, he grew up loving movies, photography and sports, eventually co-founding the NHL's Seattle Kraken in 2019.

Bruckheimer's hit film franchises include "Pirates of the Caribbean," "Top Gun," "Bad Boys" and "Beverly Hills Cop," alongside blockbusters like "Armageddon" and the Oscar-nominated "Top Gun: Maverick" and "F1." On television, he has produced more than 2,000 hours of programming, led by the "CSI" franchise, the 10-time Emmy-winning "The Amazing Race" and CBS's "Bruckheimer Fridays" lineup.

Chris Berman is being honored as a 2026 Disney Legend at D23 by three-time Super Bowl champion Steve Young.

Berman is a sportscaster who joined ESPN in 1979 at age 24, helping shape the network's tone and becoming known as the "face of ESPN." Best recognized as the network's lead voice for the NFL for more than three decades, he hosted shows such as "SportsCenter," "Sunday NFL Countdown" and "NFL Primetime."

Renowned for his player nicknames and his own moniker, "Boomer," Berman has covered major events ranging from the Super Bowl and World Series to the U.S. Open. A multiple-time National Sportscaster of the Year, his accolades include the Pete Rozelle Radio-Television Award, induction into the Sports Broadcasting Hall of Fame and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Outside of sports broadcasting, he is a golf enthusiast, music aficionado, and has appeared in TV series like "Sesame Street" and several sports films, including "The Waterboy" and "Happy Gilmore 2."

Susan Egan is being honored as a 2026 Disney Legend at D23 with a special performance by Broadway stars and Katseye.

The K-Pop group sang the hit song, "I Won't Say (I'm In Love)," from Hercules.

Egan shared that she spent 25 years working for nearly every division of The Walt Disney Company as an actress and performer, and the last seven years as an executive producer in partnership with Disney Concerts, Disney Cruise Line and more.

To her husband and daughters, Egan said, "You are the legends in my life."

Tony-nominated performer Susan Egan made Disney history as the original Belle in Broadway's "Beauty and the Beast" and the voice of Megara in the animated feature "Hercules." Her broad stage and screen career includes Broadway roles in "Cabaret" and "Thoroughly Modern Millie," voice work in "Steven Universe" and "Spirited Away," and headlining concerts with more than 70 symphony orchestras globally.

Today, Egan produces live international concert events through 10th & Main Productions, including "Disney Princess - The Concert." In November 2025, she was named the official godmother of the Disney Cruise Line ship the Disney Destiny.
