LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Fans descended in mass onto downtown Los Angeles on Monday for the Dodgers World Series Championship parade and rally.

Players loaded up into buses and traveled through the streets of downtown as fans cheered along the route.

Thousands of fans descended on downtown Los Angeles for a massive celebration of their repeat World Series win. Here's a look at the best moments.

The buses then headed to Dodger Stadium for a sold out rally, where players addressed the crowd.

This is the Dodgers ninth World Series win and first back-to-back win.

The party continued after the DTLA Dodgers World Series Championship parade on Monday. These are the best moments from the fan event at Dodger Stadium.

Eyewitness News was on the parade route, overhead and at the stadium.

Dodger fans line up early along parade route

Some Dodger fans showed up in early hours of the morning to secure a spot along the parade route in downtown Los Angeles.

Sporting their Dodger gear, many of them were already lined up outside of the The Broad museum before Eyewitness News crews arrived for morning newscasts.

They were all prepared with lawn chairs and Dodger blankets and sweaters.

Some Dodger fans showed up in early hours of the morning to secure a spot along the parade route in downtown Los Angeles.

Also there was fan-favorite public address announcer Todd Leitz, the man behind the microphone at Dodgers home games.

"There's just Dodger fans in the stadium today," he said. "There's no Toronto Blue Jays fans, there's no Giants fans... it's just Dodger fans and there's no stress. We're all just celebrating the championship and what the Dodgers were able to accomplish this year."

LAUSD schools near parade route will be open

Although the Dodgers victory parade will take over a portion of downtown Los Angeles Monday, the Los Angeles Unified School District says all school will remain open.

Several schools are located near or along the parade route, and the district is reminding parents to allow for extra time for pick-up and drop-off. They're encouraged to use alternate routes when possible.

The LAUSD says to expect heavy traffic, street closures and large crowds in the area.

Dodgers receive heroes' welcome

The champs are home!

The Dodgers are back in Los Angeles after a repeat World Series win. Their plane was welcomed with a water cannon salute on the tarmac.

AIR7 was live above LAX as the players touched down and started deplaning on Sunday evening, with the Commissioner's Trophy in tow.

Dodgers World Series parade to close DTLA courthouses Monday

Some people won't get their day in court Monday when downtown area Los Angeles County Superior Courts are closed to the public due to the large crowds and street closures expected for the Dodgers' victory parade.

The courthouses closed Monday are the Stanley Mosk Courthouse at 111 N. Hill St., the Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center at 210 W. Temple St., Superior Court departments at the Spring Street Courthouse at 312 N. Spring St. and the Archives and Records Center at 222 N. Hill Street.

All court matters scheduled for Monday in the downtown Civic Center courthouses will be continued or rescheduled.
