Chase ends as suspect ditches bus in Panorama City
The suspect abandoned the hospital bus on Arminta Street in Panorama City and ran into a nearby Home Depot store in an attempt to escape police.
Police continued searching for the suspect inside the store, and officers were seen walking out with the suspect in custody.
Stolen hospital bus goes off freeway
The chase continued as the driver went off the freeway and onto rough terrain. The driver then went in the wrong direction on an on-ramp and narrowly avoided oncoming traffic.

Police were chasing a driver of a stolen Children's Hospital bus on surface streets in North Hollywood.
It is believed no patients or children are on board.

The chase through the South Los Angeles area ended after about a half hour as the vehicle pulled over and at least four suspects jumped out and began running through yards.
LAPD units approached the neighborhood a few minutes later to begin the search.
