LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Firefighters are battling several wildfires across Los Angeles County, including in the Pacific Palisades, San Gabriel Valley, Sylmar and in the Hollywood Hills.

Red flag warnings are in effect and will remain in place until 6 p.m. Friday for the Malibu coast, the Santa Monica Mountains Recreational Area, the San Gabriel Valley, the San Fernando Valley, Calabasas, the Santa Clarita Valley, the San Gabriel Mountains, and the 5 Freeway and 14 Freeway corridors.

Number structures destroyed in Eaton Fire soars to 972

The number of structures destroyed in the Eaton Fire soared to 972, officials said.

The latest tally showed that as of Wednesday night more than 37,000 structures remained threated by the unchecked fire, which has claimed at least five lives.

Eighty-four structures were damaged by the Eaton Fire.

As of 11 p.m. Wednesday, Cal Fire reported the fire had grown to 10,600 acres and was 0% contained.

Among the structures destroyed in the fire was the Pasadena Jewish Temple & Center.

The Los Angeles County Department of Parks and Recreation reported late Thursday afternoon that the Eaton Canyon Nature Center, Farnsworth Park's Davies Community Center, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Altadena Golf Course Club House and adjacent buildings were destroyed.

Mountain lion, 2 cubs flee Palisades Fire

It's not just humans fleeing the flames.

A mountain lion and two small cubs were seen on video running down Topanga Canyon Boulevard overnight, away from where the Palisades Fire ravaged hundreds of homes.

The scene is a stark reminder of the effect the wildfires have on Southern California's wildlife.

Palisades Fire progresses toward Brentwood area as it burns 17K+ acres

The Palisades Fire has burned 17,234 acres, according to Cal Fire, and an area of concern is Mandeville Canyon.

373,000 customers now without power in California

More than 300,000 customers are without power in California, according to data from PowerOutage.us.

As of 11:15 p.m. Wednesday, the number stands at 373,472.

In Los Angeles County, there were more than 200,000 customers without power.

Below is a full list of counties that are most affected:

  • San Bernardino - 32,826
  • Riverside - 45,664
  • Orange - 7,358
  • Ventura - 65,186
  • San Diego - 10,805
