LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- The massive Eaton Fire and the Palisades Fire continue burning in Southern California days after erupting amid a powerful windstorm. Crews have made progress in the fight against the Palisades Fire after burning at least one structure in the Mandeville Canyon.

FBI working to piece together drone that damaged super scooper

The FBI released new photos of a damaged water-dropping super scooper firefighting aircraft that collided with a drone over the Palisades Fire.

According to officials, the plane collided with a privately-owned drone, causing significant damage to it. The drone put a 3x6 hole in the aircraft, causing a 20- to 30-minute delay in the aerial firefight.

Bottled water distribution center to open for Pasadena, Altadena residents

A distribution center will open Sunday for Pasadena and Altadena residents looking for bottled water.

According to a post on the City of Pasadena's X account, the center is located at 450 N. Lake Ave. and will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

It's operated by the City of Pasadena in partnership with LA County Public Works.

Crews make positive progress in battle against Palisades Fire

After five days of one of the most intense firefights in Los Angeles history, crews have made positive progress against the Palisades Fire.

Video from AIR7 showed hotspots glowing in the hillside just above Mandeville Canyon, but no evident flare up nor smoke.

The Palisades Fire has burned 23,654 acres. At least five people have died in relation to this fire.

Many evacuation orders lifted as Eaton Fire continues to burn

As the Eaton Fire continued to burn Saturday, many evacuation orders were lifted or downgraded to warnings.

The Eaton Fire had burned 14,117 acres and was at 15% containment as of Saturday evening. It has claimed the lives of eight people, according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner.

Evacuation orders were lifted for the following:

  • The city of Bradbury, and Bradbury estates

  • The city of Duarte

  • Inside the city of La Canada Flintridge:

    • From Angeles Crest Highway east to Oakwood Avenue
    • North of Angeles Crest Highway at the curve West to Haskel Street
    • North of Foothill Boulevard to Knight way and the intersection of Gould Canyon Trail at Crown Avenue
    • East to Varo Road

    Evacuation orders were downgraded to evacuation warnings for the following areas inside the city of La Canada Flintridge:

  • North of Knight way /Gould Canyon Trail and East of Oakwood Avenue / Angeles Crest Highway at the curve, to Gould Mesa Road and Starlight Crest Drive

  • NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory
  • The following areas remain closed to residents:

  • The unincorporated community of Altadena
  • Many evacuations have been lifted or downgraded from Eaton Fire surrounding area.
