Efforts are underway across Southern California to clean up downed trees, flooding and rockslides after days of rain, and the rush is on to get it all done before the next storm moves in.

Conditions will dry up somewhat for the next few days, but more rain is on the way to the region this week.

A chance for spotty, light showers will stick around Tuesday morning and afternoon.

Wednesday is expected to be mostly dry before another system arrives and brings even more showers between Thursday and Friday.

Forecasters said that system could drop another quarter to three-quarters of an inch of rain.

Here's everything you need to know about the stormy weather this week:

SoCal storm could bring above-average rainfall

In October, a single storm provided Southern California with more than it's average monthly amount of rainfall. Could it happen again this month?

The normal amount of November rain for downtown Los Angeles is 0.78 inches. This week's storm is expected to dump 1 to 3 inches of rain on the lower elevations.

Two consecutive months of above-average-rainfall would be welcome in the parched region, especially with a La Niña winter on the horizon. But the possibility of a torrential downpour raises the specter of mudflows and flash flooding, especially in recent burn scar areas.

Days after temperatures soared into the 90s across Southern California, the region is set to see lows in the 60s as an atmospheric river storm moves in.
