ARCADIA, Calif. (KABC) -- A special tribute to veterans and those who gave their lives in combat was held in Arcadia Saturday morning as part of Memorial Day weekend.

The ceremony included the declaration of a Vietnam War monument at Arcadia Community Park. The annual event started at 10 a.m. and featured food and drinks as well as the presence of community leaders.

Veterans, families came from all over to honor soldiers who bravely fought for our country and never came home.

"This is a tribute to all those who made the ultimate sacrifice, to serve our country and we're proud of it," said U.S. Marine Corps veteran John Lopez.

Veterans were honored and there was also a military flyover. The event has been happening for the last 19 years at the park.
