For decades, Native American children attended federally-run boarding schools where they were stripped of their language and culture.

DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- For decades, Native American children attended federally-run boarding schools where they were stripped of their language and culture.

Now a federal investigation has been launched into past abuses.

One group, United American Indian Involvement, is making sure people don't forget.

UAII recently remembered the tens of thousands of children forced into U.S. boarding schools over generations during a vigil across from L.A. City Hall.
