LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A vault explosion knocked out power to nearly 17,000 residents in Silver Lake and Westlake on Tuesday night.
In Silver Lake, power was out on Marathon Street, Occidental Boulevard and Maltman and Carnation avenues. In Westlake, Marathon, Valley and Lake streets and Silver Lake Boulevard were affected.
Los Angeles Department of Water and Power officials estimated restoration by 6:30 a.m.
No injuries were reported and the cause of the explosion was unknown.
