KIRKLAND, Wash. (KABC) -- American soccer star Hope Solo was arrested for domestic violence on her sister and nephew in Washington, police said Saturday.

Officers were called to a disturbance at a home in Kirkland just before 1 a.m. A male caller said a woman in the home was "hitting people." The caller told police she would not stop or leave the house.

Police said when they arrived, they found Solo upset and apparently intoxicated. Officers also saw injuries on her 17-year-old nephew and her sister. After speaking with the two, police determined Solo was the aggressor and had instigated an assault.

Solo was arrested on two counts of fourth-degree domestic violence assault. She was booked into the south King County detention facility.

"We are aware of the situation. At this point, we do not have any further comments," U.S. Soccer spokesman Neil Buethe said in a statement.

Solo is due in court June 23.

Solo, 32, has won two Olympic gold medals as a goalkeeper for the U.S. women's national team. She also plays with the Seattle Reign of the National Women's Soccer League.

In 2012, she married former Seattle Seahawks tight end Jerramy Stevens. He was arrested just before their wedding for investigation of assault after a disturbance involving her, but he was not charged.
