Human skull found in Angeles National Forest

Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies investigate following the discovery of human remains near Glendora Mountain Road and Mile Marker 10.5 on Monday, Oct. 12, 2015.

Human remains were discovered Monday in the Angeles National Forest, Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies said.

Two hunters discovered a human skull over the side of a cliff near Glendora Ridge Road Mile Marker 10.5. and contacted the sheriff's department at 5:30 p.m.

L.A. County homicide detectives were searching for additional human remains Tuesday morning.

The cause of death and identity of the victim remains under investigation.
