BOYLE HEIGHTS, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A man has been arrested after Los Angeles police officers were fire upon by a paintball gun on Monday night.

LAPD officers from the Hollenbeck station were investigating a call in the 3100 block of Fairmount Street in Boyle Heights around 9:30 p.m. That's when they were fired on twice. No officers were hurt.

Officers had observed the suspect firing the paintball from his residence. They set up a perimeter in the area of Wabash Avenue and Stone Street to search for the suspect and eventually arrested him at his home.

According to police, the suspect admitted that he was firing the paintballs. Investigators say they recovered a paintball gun at the home.
