MEXICO (KABC) -- Video taken underwater offers a closer look at the giant shark that thrashed its way inside a shark cage off the coast of Baja California last week.

Diver Ming Chan, a Shanghai-based advertising executive, was in that shark cage, shooting video of an underwater world, teeming with sea life.

Chan was with a group of divers on a five-day shark cruise out of Ensenada, near Guadalupe Island.

Topside, the ship's crew baited the water with huge chunks of tuna.

That's when a great white cruised into view. Several times, it circled the bait, giving Chan great views of one of the ocean's top predators.

Another diver topside captured what happened next - the shark grabbed the tuna and then charged, breaking the steel bars of the shark cage, ending up inside the cage with Chan.

Incredibly, Chan was not harmed. He said the shark cage was shaking so violently, he didn't have time to be afraid.

Chan wasn't rolling in his underwater camera at the time of the attack, but he says his video of the giant shark gliding by is enough for him.
