New Hampshire woman left tied up for 9 hours after terrifying home invasion

CHARLESTOWN, N.H. (KABC) -- New Hampshire police are searching for two suspects who left a woman tied up for hours in the basement of her home and stole as much as $25,000 in personal items.

Shortly before 11 p.m. Sunday, Christine Beebe, 63, arrived at her Charlestown, New Hampshire home. She unlocked her door, disarmed her alarm system and let out her dog. Surveillance footage outside of her home captured the two men attacking her at her front door.

The suspects, who authorities say waited for more than an hour and a half outside of Beebe's home, overtook her, brought her down to the basement of her home, zip-tied her to a post and placed a blanket over her head.

The pair demanded the combination to her safe, which she kept in the basement. It contained coins and precious metals, according to authorities.

Beebe gave up the combination and video shows the two suspects leaving with three large bags filled with items valued between $20,000 and $25,000.

The men left Beebe tied to the post and she was not found until nine hours later when contractors who were scheduled to do work inside of her house showed up.

She was taken to the hospital in critical condition, but was eventually upgraded to stable condition.

Authorities were able to track down some of the items to a pawn shop in Manhattan on Monday. Charlestown police and New Hampshire State Police are now working with the NYPD to obtain search warrants for the shop.

Beebe's husband, Arthur Beebe, is in New Hampshire state prison after he was involved with stolen items through his family business, but authorities do not believe there is a connection.

The investigation is ongoing and authorities believe there may be a third suspect involved who was driving. They are all believed to be New Hampshire locals.
