2 killed outside Panorama City Denny's; gunman sought

PANORAMA CITY, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Two people are dead following a shooting outside a Panorama City Denny's, and police on Friday are searching for their killer.

Los Angeles police said the shooting occurred at a couple of bus stop benches near the intersection of Van Nuys Boulevard and Chase Street shortly after 3 a.m.

One man was confirmed dead at the scene, and another wounded man was transported to a nearby hospital where he later died.

The shooting victims' identities were not immediately released.

No information was released about a suspect or suspects, but investigators said they believe someone walked up to the victims and opened fire.

The incident was believed to be gang-related, but an investigation was ongoing.

Meantime, Van Nuys Boulevard and Chase Street intersection was closed.
