The Buffalo Sabres, who have been the success story of the 2025-26 NHL season and a popular futures choice among the betting public, suddenly find themselves in some peril after falling into a 2-1 deficit in their second-round series against the Montreal Canadiens. Buffalo has lengthened all the way out to 20-1 to win the Stanley Cup, while Montreal is +950, its shortest odds of the season thus far.

The winner of that series will face the Carolina Hurricanes, who finished off another sweep on Saturday and moved to +155. The Colorado Avalanche still lead at +140 after taking Game 4 from the Minnesota Wild (45-1).

Meanwhile, the Vegas Golden Knights are facing some resistance from the long-shot Anaheim Ducks, as that series is now tied at two games apiece. Vegas is still third on the Stanley Cup odds board but lengthened from +550 to +900 after dropping Game 4, while Anaheim shortened from 45-1 to 28-1.
