ALHAMBRA, Calif. (KABC) -- Police in Alhambra have used drones to help them to take two shoplifting suspects into custody over the last week.
The latest incident involving a suspected thief at a Target happened over the weekend. According to the Alhambra Police Department, Gustavo Alvarez hid items in his backpack and then switched it for a stolen one.
The store's loss prevention tried to confront him but he ran to the parking lot and got away in his vehicle. But his getaway plan didn't take him far.
Police used a drone and found him at an Arco gas station on Westmont Drive and Valley Boulevard, where they took him into custody.

Alhambra police also used a drone to help track down another suspected thief, who they eventually found hiding behind a giant teddy bear on a bunk bed.
Officers found the shirtless suspect on Sept. 8 as he hid in an Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) of a home. Police had been tracking Alejandro Garciavielmas with a drone after he allegedly left a Home Depot with some stolen items, which he apparently later discarded.
Police say he then ran into the property where they found him, and even helped himself to some ice cream before he was arrested.
