1 dead in multi-car crash on northbound 405 Freeway in Sepulveda Pass; several lanes closed

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- One person has been killed in a multi-vehicle crash on the northbound 405 Freeway in the Sepulveda Pass.

At least five cars were involved in the fatal collision, which was reported shortly after 2:30 p.m. near Getty Center Drive, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. One person, who has not yet been identified, died at the scene.

Paramedics are assessing one additional patient with minor injuries, LAFD said.

Northbound traffic is being impacted. Drivers are being urged to seek alternate routes.

Aerial video from AIR7 showed several ambulances and fire trucks at the scene. Traffic was getting through on a couple of lanes, but there's still a backup.

No further details were immediately known. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
