BOYLE HEIGHTS, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A Mercedes and an ambulance transporting a patient collided in Boyle Heights on Wednesday, leaving a total of five patients involved.

The crash occurred at the intersection of Boyle Avenue and 4th Street shortly before 2 p.m.

Details were limited, but authorities said the ambulance was transporting a patient to a hospital when the collision occurred.

That patient was described as being in critical condition before the crash.

Officials said four people, including the patient who was in the ambulance, were transported from the scene.

Injuries resulting from the crash were described as minor.

No additional information about the cause of the crash was immediately available.
