HOLLYWOOD -- The new film "The Map That Leads to You" takes us on a romantic adventure across Europe. It's based on the novel of the same name about a young woman who heads to on a trip with some friends. It's one last hurrah before she begins the life she's planned for herself.
But life is tricky, and when she meets a charismatic stranger and sparks fly, she's suddenly on a journey she doesn't expect.
Madelyn Cline and K.J. Apa head the cast, with Lasse Hallstrom, the Oscar-nominated director of "The Cider House Rules" and "My Life as a Dog," behind the camera.
"Words cannot describe how amazing he is. I mean, he is so much a -- he's so in the moment. He's an enigma," said Apa. "And he's such a great conductor for a movie. He has this way of absorbing everything and then just letting everything be exactly as it should be. Letting everything live as it wants to."
If there's one theme of this movie, you can sum it up in one word - love.
"I love love. I love falling in love. I love being in love," said Cline. "I think it's one of the most incredible experiences you can experience as a human. And sometimes love doesn't last forever. Sometimes it does. Like, it's a really wonderful thing and it's something you can keep with you and hold with you. That's just the human experience and I think that this story and this script encapsulated that very well."
"The Map That Leads to You" begins streaming Wednesday, Aug. 20, on Prime.
